Turkey-Africa Agricultural Meeting Has Began

0kapakTurkey-Africa 1st Agriculture Ministers Meeting and Agribusiness Forum had been carried out in Antalya with the honouring of Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.

President of the Guinea and the Term President African Union Alpha Conde, President of the Republic of Somali Muhammed Abdullah Fermacu, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of Turkey Faruk Çelik and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has attented the opening of the meeting.

There were 50 Ministers from about 54 country responsible of Food, Agriculture, Livestock, Fishery Industry and Rural Development, also Ambassadors of the countries, international organisation and private sector represantatives in the meeting. Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of Turkey Faruk Çelik and  accompanying delegation had attended the opening of the greenhouse of Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Of Turkey and have got information about the activities from the General Manager Ayhan Karayama.

In his speech, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım; ‘‘ Africa will solve its own problems by itself. Turkey will go on standing by Africa in this process. We know that there are so many things that Turkey will learn from Africa. When we look today, there are so much waste and poorness all over the World. Our main objective and target is to close this divide. We as Turkey is always in an endeavour for this objective. Today is the day to close the ranks, league together much more and solve the problems. ‘’

Minister Faruk Çelik also said that the National Agriculture Project will be a model project for Africa countries; ‘’We as Turkey see the collaboration with the African Countires as a long term strategic plan. For this reason, we will help technically to all other countries who wants to develop its own National Agriculture Project. The average age in Africa is 19 where in Europe is 42, so this is an enormous potential for Africa. ‘’

‘’ The African Initiative we have started in 2005 has became a partnership policy. We as Turkey have been opening Embassies in every capital city in Africa. The number of Embassy of Turkey 15 years ago was 12 and today is 39; and we want to make this number 50. The number of African Country Embassies in Turkey is 33. We are prompting other countries to open their Embassies in Turkey. We are spreading on effort to develop our relations with African Union, other regional economic organizations and all African countries. ’’ had Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu recorded.

President of the Republic of Somali Muhammed Abdullah Fermacu and President of the Guinea and the Term President African Union Alpha Conde had also given their speeches in the meeting and they had indicated that they are ready to make collaboration with Turkey.

Right along with lots of local and foreign participant, on behalf of  Agricultural Credit Cooperatives Of Turkey, Central Union Member of Board İbrahim Ethem Üstüner, Assistant General Managers Mahmut Güngör and Mehmet Güneş, General Manager of Tareks Burhanettin Topsakal, General Manager of İmece Plastik Mustafa Koray Yaşar, General Manager of Gübretaş İbrahim Yumaklı, Head of Credits and Financial Affairs of Central Union Yahya Altınkaya, Manager Of External Relations Harun Bolut and lots of businessmen and press members had attended the meeting.
